A Valentine's Day Harp & Piano Recital with Auna Selberg
Sat, February 13 @ 4pm - Donations are appreciated & will be used to fund Auna's musical education
The recital will feature selections by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Rousseau & Debussy
About the Artist: Auna Selberg, an 18 year old native Oregonian, has enjoyed playing the harp since the age of 10 when she began studying with Oregon Symphony harpist Jennifer Craig-Ironside. Auna began studying piano when she was 7 years old and has been under the tutelage of Mary Kogen since 2005. Harold Gray has also instructed Auna in piano and theory.
For several years, Auna and her sister Jenna have volunteered their musical services to Providence's Home for the Medically Fragile Children. In addition, Auna performed as concert harpist for the Oregon Pro Arte Youth Chamber Orchestra in 2007 and 2008 and also performed as guest harpist for the Jewish Community Orchestra in 2008. In April 2009, Anna performed with world-renowned harpist, Rita Costanzi, for the Oregon Ballet Theatre in James Kudelka's World Premier, Hush. Auna's most recent accomplishment was winning the Oregon's Young Artist Debut Competition; she is the first harpist to win this competition. Her future plans include continuing her education with harp and piano. She is looking forward to performing Hush with OBT in June 2010.
